Discovering the secrets and beauty that lie hidden within a beautiful piece of fabric is the inspiration for Blue Orchid. I imagined these exotic flowers delicately sewn across the ‘centre-piece’ of this runner as soon as I lay eyes on the original piece of cloth. Placed against a snowy textured background with a thin black binding, a feeling of elegance is offered to the table. The back is a William Morris styled cotton for a touch of the Art Nouveau period of design.
