Black and White and Gray

37”H x 40”W

2018

In 1997, I was feeling unsatisfied and empty, desperately needing to figure things out so I turned to colour and writing to get in touch with my feelings and emotions. I decided on poetry as it seemed a less restricted and more abstract genre. I turned inward and wrote what I felt. When I started preparing for my exhibit, Feeling from Without and Within, I knew I needed to have an identity piece and used the poem I had written years ago as the inspiration.

Representing IDENTITY in the artist’s 2018 solo exhibit ‘Feeling from Without and Within’.
