An incredible piece of hand dyed fabric is truly a work of art! The World in a Summer Storm was created with one such length of cotton that spoke to me as soon as I laid eyes on it. It told stories of the strength and beauty of thunderstorms as they roll through the prairies on a hot summer night. Of the electricity that is both seen with the naked eye and vividly experienced as the sky is aglow with sheets of lightning. How the reflection can become a magical and mysterious image that shimmers across the water’s edge. My thread simply completed the narrative present in this amazing cloth dyed and created by Ricky Chestnut.
