Within the Caverns of the Mind was created from the perspective of the person suffering from ‘madness’. Heidi Hunter’s incredible hand-dyed cloth and several different types of black thread are what were primarily used to stitch an immense terrifying space where just a tiny pool of safety and sanity remains and the ghostly figures of a mother and her two beloved daughters continue to exist.
Representing MADNESS in the artist’s 2018 solo exhibit ‘Feeling from Without and Within’.
